Yogi Adityanath Launches 27 New Clusters to Drive UP’s Expressway-Centric Growth
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated 27 Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Clusters (IMLCs) within the expressway network of the state on a total land area of 13240 acres. He hailed the initiative as “a major milestone in transforming Uttar Pradesh into the backbone of economic growth for India”.
During the event, the CM said, “It is a moment of immense happiness for me that I am getting the opportunity to launch the dream of Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Cluster in Uttar Pradesh, which Prime Minister Modi had seen in a state like UP, today with my colleagues”. He further added, “The double‑engine government has played a significant role in establishing Uttar Pradesh as an expressway state over the last eight years. It has also succeeded in establishing Uttar Pradesh as a great destination for investment”.
A government spokesman noted that the strategy of such clusters will lead to rapid industrial development, the creation of jobs at the mass scale, and stabilize the process of regional development. “It will ultimately propel Uttar Pradesh towards its one trillion economy target and achieving industrial self‑reliance,” the spokesperson said.
The strategic locations of these IMLCs is along major expressways such as Purvanchal, Bundelkhand, Ganga, Gorakhpur Link and Lucknow-Kanpur. There will be a smooth connection there. So far, 9,864 acres have already been purchased and the rest 3,376 is currently being procured.
The thinking behind this move is that Uttar Pradesh will become a centre of manufacturing and logistics and both domestic and international investors will be interested in its business due to the well-connected and well-integrated industrial infrastructure.
