TVS ILP Commits ₹1,000 Crore to Build Out Logistics Infrastructure in Tamil Nadu
TVS Industrial & Logistics Parks (TVS ILP), an industrial and warehousing developer, has announced another capital injection worth ₹1,000 crore to develop Grade-A warehousing and industrial estates in Tamil Nadu. The investment is targeted towards harnessing the State’s flourishing manufacturing growth to enhance the regional supply chain framework.
TVS ILP formalised the deal by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government in the VETTRI Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave, said Business World. The investment in the capital will create around 1,500 direct and indirect employment opportunities and create modern industrial complexes customized for industries such as fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), e-commerce and automotive industries.
As mentioned by Rediff Money, the state of Tamil Nadu has proven to be an operational base for TVS ILP with the company already up and running 10 fully-functional industrial and logistics parks. The new investment cycle coincides with Tamil Nadu’s economic vision of transforming it into a $1.5 trillion economy by 2036 by establishing strategically-situated logistics hubs near clusters of industrial and port complexes.
In the Executive Vision segment, The Financial Express watered down the media frenzy by quoting Ramnath Subramaniam, the Joint Managing Director of TVS ILP, who said expansion will meet the increasing demand for modern compliant warehousing spaces. The developer wants to extend its logistics footprint into secondary and tertiary industrial nodes, allowing manufacturers to have logistics outlets with plug-and-play capabilities in their end-to-end distribution networks.
