NHAI Awards Azamgarh South–East Bypass to Kaluwala Construction

Officially, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has granted the project of the construction of the Azamgarh South-East Bypass to Kaluwala Construction, which is one of the milestones towards relieving traffic congestion and improving connections in Eastern Uttar Pradesh. According to the Press Information Bureau (PIB), the project cost 368.85 crore and it shall be implemented within the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM).

 

According to DD News, the bypass would reduce chronic traffic in Azamgarh city, facilitate movement in-state, and also contribute to the increased security on the local and regional routes. The new corridor will be directly connected to the Purvanchal Expressway which will offer a smooth connectivity between district roads and the national freight routes.

 

According to Infrastructure coverage by Construction World, the bypass will ultimately be included in a bigger ring-road system that is scheduled in Azamgarh. The integration is likely to make long-distance travel efficient, minimize the pressure on inner-city roads, and facilitate a smoother process of freight.

 

The density of vehicles has contributed towards the congestion of commuters, as well as business cars, by the congestion of the area occasioned by the poor network of roads, the intermittent patterns of traffic congestion and the density of the vehicles. As stated in the DD News, the project will alleviate the urban core congestion, and will reduce the pollution as a result of traffic congestion in the city, and will lower the possibility of accidents. It is also projected that the section of better road infrastructure will help boost the local industries, agro based markets and the business clusters that will expand around the district.

 

The Minister of Union Nitin Gadkari has opined that the bypass will be on an equal footing with the bigger Bharatmala Pariyojana which aims to construct high-speed routes that will be secure in both Tier-II and Tier-III areas. In the given projects, PIB states that inclusive development of the area and support of the logistic systems within the state are important.

Once the Azamgarh South-East Bypass is completed, it will not only enhance the accessibility of Mau, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Ballia but also will enhance the accessibility of the local learning and health facilities, as well as industries. Seeing that the necessity of the efficient mobility solutions rises in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, the provided project can be seen as a significant step towards the process of the national highways development in India and the long-term projects aimed at economic growth.
