Why I am unable to find a logistics job in India even though I am trying my best

The logistics sector in India is growing very fast but the youth are not getting enough employment opportunities in the logistics sector. The logistics sector is one such sector where only the educated get a good salary job and those who are illiterate get only wage jobs, in such a situation, those who are educated. They are also not getting a job. What is the reason for this? Today we will discuss this topic in this article and will also know about its solution.

(1) Update your skills and experience

It is very compulsory to have skills to get a job in the logistics sector. If you do not have skills, you cannot get a job in this field. Even if you get a job, the salary is not good in it. If you want a good salary, then you should have skills like SAP, ERP and proficiency in data analytics and software, if you have all these skills then you become eligible to get a job in the logistics sector.

(2) Improve your resume and cover letter

When you apply for a job profile in the logistics sector, only your resume and cover letter go to HR. And HR calls you for an interview based on that. In such a situation, your resume and cover letter should be updated. Especially, your experience and achievements should be mentioned in detail in the resume. Apart from this, the cover letter should be customized according to each job profile.

So that when your resume reaches HR, HR cannot reject your resume because your resume tells HR about your personality. The better your resume is, the more are your chances of getting a job.

(3) Lack of networking

Networking is very important for getting a job in the logistics sector. When your networking is good, it will be easy for you to get a job.  To

overcome the lack of networking, attend webinars and seminars. Apart from this, create a LinkedIn account and stay active on it and add people related to the logistics sector to your connections.

(4) Use the right job platform

If you are not applying on the right job platform, then your application is not reaching the HR of the company. Therefore, it is important to check which job platform is good for you whenever you apply. According to Google, the best job platforms in India are naukari.com, shine.com, Monster India and Apna App.

(5) Lack of interview skills

Many times it happens that despite having good experience, one is unable to perform in the interview. Due to which one gets rejected. This is also a big hurdle in getting a job. For such candidates who have good experience but are unable to perform in the interview, the best option for them is to practice as many mock interviews as possible. Due to which their communication skills will be strong and the present of mind will be sharp.

(6) Industry demand and your expectations

The work pressure in the logistics sector is very high. Make yourself mentally and physically strong before entering the logistics sector. To make yourself physically and mentally strong, accept the reality of logistics and be ready to compromise initially.

(7) Lack of professional courses

Before entering the logistics sector, choose professional courses like Diploma in Logistics Management or Supply Chain Management. After completing these courses, you will easily get a job in the logistics sector, but in the absence of these, you will not get any job easily.

Some Suggested Certifications related to Logistics

  1. SOLE – The International Society of Logistics Membership
  2. Association of Supply Chain Management – Certification
  3. Council Of Supply Chain Management Professionals (Cscmp) Logistics Certification

(8)Learning VS Practical work

Whatever is taught about logistics in many Indian universities today is not proving to be effective at the ground level. Due to which they are facing problems in getting the desired job. The solution to this is that along with teaching the students, practical should also be done. So that they can connect what they have learned and what they have done practically.

(9)Not Enough Good Faculties To Teach Logistics

Logistics is a practical industry. There are very few experienced teachers in institutes like Coursera, Udemy, edX. If the biggest improvement is to be made in the logistics sector, then it is to hire only such teachers in your school who have 10 years of experience of working in the

logistics sector apart from a degree.

Conclusion:

To get a job in the logistics sector, only hard work is not enough, but for this you will have to do professional courses and build your network and keep updating your resume and cover letter from time to time and avoid applying in big cities to get a job. Apply in small cities.
