Spotted: EIM Electric Truck Undergoing Road Tests Outside Pune

A Mumbai-based Electric motor company, Energy in Motion (EIM) had recently spotted its electric truck testing on open roads near Pune on route back to Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) after the electric vehicle had passed its road tests.

Foton Motor Co. Ltd, is a Chinese manufacturer of commercial vehicles with whom EIM has entered into a partnership to assemble and sell the heavy-duty electric trucks of Foton in India.

The test truck seen seems to have been constructed with 4×2 chassis. Its cab design is quite similar to the original Foton truck with a chrome grille where the figure EIM is clearly designed to stand at the center, clear-lens head-lamps and a sun visor. The interior of the cabin is two-tone truck interior, with brown leatherette seat-upholstering and modernish dashboard having the center console somewhat leveled down to the driver so as to reach it conveniently.

This electric truck is powered by a 282 kWh LFP battery, which is installed right behind the cab. Distinctively, the battery is removable, i.e. it is possible to replace it with a recharged one in five minutes only in one of completely automatized battery swapping stations of EIM.

All thanks to BHPian Patwardhan who has caught and shared photos of this new hope of electric commercial vehicles with the enthusiast community.
