The Common Logistics Job Scams

  1. Job Offers That Ask for Money

The scammers will act like recruiters of the well known logistics companies. Mostly they offer high paying jobs and ask for money upfront. But once you pay the people disappear.

  1. Payment Scams

Sometimes to earn your trust the scammers send you a check claiming that is for job-related expenses. Later they will ask you to send them a portion of money to someone else. Once that is done they disappear, and the check    given by them will bounce.

  1. Package Reshipping Scams

Some scammers hire people for “quality control” jobs that involve receiving and reshipping packages. In reality, these packages often contain stolen goods, and you could get into legal trouble for unknowingly helping a criminal operation.

  1. Identity Theft Scams

Not all the scam involves money, sometimes they steal your identity. They might ask for your personal details like Aadhaar number, PAN card, or banking details. You might wonder what they would do with this, they can apply for loans, get credit accounts or commit some fraud.

How to Identify a Scam

You can identity the scam, if they

  • Ask for money in return for a job.
  • Offer a dream job, but it won’t be true in reality.  (For E.g : A fresher in Logistics get salary between Rs 35000 – Rs 45000 PM
  • Use the normal or personal mail id, and don’t have company official mail
  • Give you a JD, i.e vague, and there won’t be much details.
