Every vehicle should be up to date with the road tax payment. Using a vehicle without paying road tax will result in a penalty. The penalty varies based on the duration of tax default and the type of vehicle. The law governing this offence is Kerala motor vehicle taxation act 1976. 

  1. Driving without pollution under control certificate

Every vehicle must process valid pollution control certification to ensure their emissions are under control. Driving without a PUC certificate will lead to a penalty of rupees Rs.2000. The governing law is Motor vehicle act 1988 section 190 (2). 

  1. Improper or obstructive parking or parking in the no parking zones

  1. Having unauthorized extra lights in the Truck

Modifying the vehicle by adding unauthorized extra lights or other light alterations without approval is illegal. Such modifications will lead to a fine of Rs.500 for the first time and Rs1500 for repeated violations. The governing for this penalty is motor vehicle act 1988 section 52. 

10.Disobeying the police direction or order 

Failure to obey the instructions from police officers on duty will result in a fine of Rs.2000. This comes under the act of Motor vehicle act 1988 section 179 (1).
