Flipkart Opens Ekart Logistics Network to India’s MSMEs and D2C Brands

So, the logistics and supply chain arm of the Flipkart Group, Ekart, has officially opened its huge supply chain capabilities to the outside organisation to allow Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) brands, and enterprise clients to access it across the country.

Ekart’s commercial expansion is driven through two major initiatives: a new model of a franchise outlet and leveraged, dedicated storage. Ekart has a franchise model, and has already established more than 300 physical outlets in leading commercial zones, such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Surat. By the end of 2026, the company aims to expand this reach to over 1,000 franchisee outlets across the country, to help small merchants send goods from door-to-door without investing in logistics infrastructure.

Reporting on fulfillment capabilities, Ekart has made over 1 million square feet of dedicated warehousing space available for third-party brands requiring end-to-end fulfillment support. Ekart is actively looking at expanding their warehouses in Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad and Kolkata, with this effort trying to reduce delivery turnaround time and keep stock close to end-consumers. For those external businesses using the platform, or those external businesses interested in using the platform, there are a number of high-end proprietary technologies that also may be available, such as AI based address resolution, real-time shipment tracking and the use of AI models for regional demand forecasting.

As detailed by Flipkart Stories, Mani Bhushan, Chief Business Officer at Ekart, emphasized that after years of supporting thousands of internal retail sellers and brand partners, Ekart is transitioning into a broader logistics-as-a-service provider. With more than 20 prime warehouses offering Grade-A facilities, Ekart has 14,000 plus trucks running everyday and delivers to over 15,000 pin codes in India. This means that this infrastructure opens up for scattered businesses the same kind of logistics efficiency realised by larger enterprises — one that can be scaled and replicated across the national market.
