How to get Hazardous Goods Drivers license? Application Procedure, Fees, Eligibility, Renewal fees etc

Carrying dangerous goods like petrol, diesel, or even chemicals is not like driving an ordinary truck. Usually, it is even more risky because these goods can cause harm if not handled properly. That’s why the government controls it strictly and asks drivers to get a special license. Basically, this license proves that you are trained and also responsible enough to carry those dangerous items safely on the road.

Who Can Apply?

Not everyone can apply for this license. You need to be at least 20 years old. You must also have a heavy vehicle driving license, and it should be at least one year old. Usually, the education requirement is just 8th grade, so you don’t need to be highly qualified. Actually, this makes it easier for experienced drivers to apply without worrying about higher studies.

How to Apply

The application process is not very complicated. You have to visit your nearest RTO and fill out the form. Usually, the form asks for your personal details and vehicle information. Along with it, you need to submit your current driving license, ID proof, and address proof.

But the main step is training. Basically, you must attend a short training course at a government-approved center. This training teaches you how to handle dangerous goods, what to do during emergencies, and how to keep yourself and others safe, and actually this training is very useful in real life, because it prepares you for situations you may never have faced before.
